Donald Simpson Community Centre thrives, by the wonderful work and time given by the Volunteers to help in many aspects of running the centre. It differs from being a convenor for an activity, to lending a hand in our cafe, to setting up activity rooms, outdoor garden works etc.
We are always looking for volunteers to join on board. Below are the current vacancies available. Please email email@example.com for more information or to submit your expression of interest.
We are looking for volunteers to join the team at the Donald Simpson Centre. Currently we have been assigned a project by Brisbane South PHN (Primary Health Network) to implement a Weavers Program through recruiting those with personal caring experience to undergo training to provide individual support to carers.
“Weavers” was chosen by carers to indicate the network of support that can be created for carers through this program all of which is voluntary and provided on a one-to-one basis. We know that carers experience issues such as depression, mental fatigue, anxiety and frustration. Talking to someone one-to-one from the Weavers will help them realise they are not alone and can find solutions to the problems they are facing
Mr Paul Barnes the coordinator for the program is eager to hear from experienced carers who are willing to join the program and become Weavers. His contact details are: mobile – 0477 314 366; through the Donald Simpson Centre – 3821 1089; or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Offsite Activities Convener
Conveners are sought for activities which can be undertaken in venues around the Redlands in halls or other public venues with suitable space. The community organisation wishes to provide activities for seniors in their local areas, particularly to help those who are not able to travel easily to other centres or who wish to participate closer to home.
This is an extension of our goal of providing opportunities for seniors to remain involved in social activities and to keep their minds and bodies active to contribute to their wellbeing.
